The retail research team of Cresa Poland has updated its retail map of Poland. The map covers 13 major cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Tricity, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Lublin, Białystok, Toruń, Rzeszów and the Silesian Conurbation.
The retail map of Poland presents 468 schemes broken down into main shopping centres, retail parks, outlet centres, standalone warehouses and other retail properties, including planned projects. The leading shopping centres are specially highlighted. Each scheme comes with an approximate size of retail space.
Each market has been described using retail indicators such as retail space saturation, purchasing power and vacancy rates. An overview of both existing and planned infrastructure, and key demographics and statistics such as population figures and unemployment rates for each city can be a source of useful guidance for tenants.
“Developers will undoubtedly review their plans due to the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. Delays in delivery of new retail space to the market are likely if schemes in the pipeline are temporarily put on hold or postponed. Retailers are also revising their investment plans for the coming months. However, all retail market players wish for a quick return to a trajectory of steady and healthy growth wherever possible,” says Magdalena Sadal, Head of Retail Research & Advisory, Cresa Poland.
“Our retail map of Poland has been very popular among tenants and landlords. We are pleased to share our work and market expertise. We have received positive feedback from companies saying that this tool has often helped them decide how and where to develop their business. The map could be used today as a practical and free-of-charge tool to look at the market distribution of retail schemes and analyze the situation we are all facing,” says Szymon Łukasik, Head of Retail at Cresa Poland.
